Frequently Asked Questions
•
Are you a franchise?
NO. MCCI is and has always been family owned and managed.
•
What cleaning method do you use?
We use a truck-mounted hot water extraction system (also called steam cleaning) – the only method
recommended by carpet mill manufacturers.
•
How long will it take my carpets to dry?
Drying time varies depending upon the fabric content and how heavily soiled the carpet is. Most carpet dries
in 4-6 hours. Stairs and heavily soiled carpets may take longer.
•
How often should I clean my carpets?
That depends on your living situation. As a grandparent I want carpets that are clean enough for small
babies to crawl on, so I have mine cleaned about every six months. We recommend at least every 6-12
months.
•
Is your work guaranteed?
YES! If you’re not happy, we’re not happy. We strive for excellence, but it would be misleading to promise that
we can remove every spot and stain. Some spots result in a permanent stain by changing the color of a fiber:
i.e. Bleach, natural or chemical dye or mustard. Mike is diligent to remain on the cutting edge of technology
and industry standards for the purpose of ensuring customer satisfaction. If we can’t get it out, no-one can.
•
Why should I hire you instead of doing the work myself?
It will save you money and protect your financial investment in your carpet and upholstery. Truck-mounted
equipment power and our technical expertise are the two main reasons. We know how to protect your
investment and maintain product warranties. Portable rental and home machines can’t deliver the power or
hot water temperature to deep clean, kill bacteria, and eliminate allergens; nor do they have the extraction
power to prevent residue that will attract dirt and make your carpet and upholstery look dirty sooner.
Furthermore all carpet and upholstery fabrics are different. Our team knows which products are safe for
yours.
•
What methods of payment do you take?
Cash and personal checks are always welcome. We also accept all major credit cards.
•
Do you move furniture?
YES! As long as we can do so without injuring it or ourselves, we move couches, loveseats, tables, chairs. We
do not move items such as pianos, hutches, entertainment centers, computer equipment, beds, dressers or
antiques.
•
Do protective coatings really work?
Carpet and upholstery protectors are highly recommended. Protectant products prevent dirt and oil from
getting ground in and breaking down the fibers. Protectant also aids with stain prevention by keeping spills
from immediately soaking into the fibers before you can clean them up. Protectant products lose
effectiveness over time, particularly in high traffic areas. We believe reapplication is one more way to protect
your financial investment in your carpet and upholstery.
•
Why is upholstery so expensive to clean?
There are two reasons. The shape of furniture slows us down because it requires us to use smaller tools so
we can give attention to detail and upholstery fabric is more delicate than carpet and requires special care to
prevent tearing and discoloration.
•
What kinds of stains can you remove?
We are highly successful at removing “most” red dye, Kool-Aid, wine, coffee, tea, rust, blood, pet stains, wax,
gum, grease and oil.*Beware of using stain removal products available to the general public. Some of them
may actually cause chemical reactions with the chemicals in your carpet and upholstery fibers and
permanently set the stain.
•
What areas do you serve?
We serve Fort Collins, Windsor, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont and surrounding Northern Colorado area.
